About Us

St. Andrew's is a Church of England Voluntary Aided school, situated approximately 4 miles South of Chard and 4 miles North of Axminster on the Devon / Dorset / Somerset border.

We are proud to have close links with the local churches and as a church school value the opportunity to explore the meaning of the Christian faith.

The school serves Chardstock and the surrounding villages and attracts pupils from the Chard and Axminster areas.

The school currently occupies the original Victorian school building, opened over 150 years ago and will, in the near future, be moving to a new school building within the village.

The school is organised into four classes with admissions to the reception class in September and January each year, depending on the pupil's date of birth. Chardstock Pre-School is accommodated within the school and the children who attend benefit from being part of the school. At the age of 11, the majority of pupils go on to either Axe Valley School (Axminster) or Holyrood Community School (Chard). Some children also gain selected places at Colyton Grammar School.
